Do You Have A Dental Insurance Plan?

It is important to have a good dental insurance plan that will care for you and your whole family's teeth, but which insurance provider's plan should you choose? There are so many dental insurance plans on the market that it should be easy to choose one that fits the needs of you and your family. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Remember the adage "You get what you pay for"? Well it's true. Choosing the cheapest insurance plan may not always be the best option.

Your dental health is as important as your physical health. Not many people realise that what is going on in their mouth may be affecting their whole body. Periodontal disease, for instance, has a high statistical correlation with debilitating conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even arthritis.

What to Look For In a Dental Insurance Plan
When you are comparing dental insurance plans, think about future events. Are you married or do you expect to be? Will your spouse and children be able to join your plan now or in the future or do you simply intend to change dental plans to a new dental insurance company as your family grows?

If you already have a family, at what point do your children lose coverage? If your child attends university, will the family plan still provide dental coverage at twenty-two years old? They may not legally be minors but you may still be supporting them financially. With Dencover Insurance the answer is YES, we cover your children after they turn 18 and up to 22 years of age providing they are living with you in in a permanent capacity as students and rely on your support financially. Our dental insurance plans even cover your child should they be over 18 but entirely without gainful employment due to a physical or mental handicap and are chiefly dependant on you for maintenance and support. That's why we here at Dencover Insurance are different. (Terms & Conditions do apply)

When making your choice, look at what percentage of the bills for dental surgery the plan will pay and what you will need to pay. Not every plan will cover check-ups or hygiene visits, for instance, there may be limits on the number of visits per year which will be covered.

Some UK dental insurance plans specify which dentists are on the plan and which are not. Check to see if using your local dentist is an option should you need an emergency dental procedure. Should you require emergency dental treatment as an NHS patient Dencover will pay you up to £500 in any one year to take the burden of paying that bill off of your shoulders. Our insurance plans also include Worldwide Cover for Emergency Dental Treatment during your policy year to a maximum limit of £500. Cheaper policies may exclude such cover. Dencover Insurance Plans also provide a wide range of cover to private dental patients including, but not limited to, 75% of root canal dentristy costs, the same again for simple and surgical tooth extractions, fillings, crowns. We even provide relief for the cost of bridge work. Maximum limits apply. To top this off Dencover also pay £22.50 up to a maximum of twice per year per person for dental examinations. We do this to encourage people to keep their teeth and gums healthy.

Comparing Dental Plans
Whether you are looking for a comprehensive dental insurance plan for your family,  an dental plan for your parents perhaps, or simply basic dental insurance cover for yourself, it is important to know exactly what you want the policy to provide. Make a list of the criteria and prioritise them in order of importance. Then list the dental insurance plans that have options close to your criteria and make a final comparison to find the one that fits the bill.

The dental insurance plan you choose may not always be the cheapest, but it should most importantly provide the level of dental cover that you are looking for, without too much compromise of your initial requirements.
